Hull Family Home & Farmstead to Celebrate Lancaster Birthday

The Town of Lancaster and the Hull Family Home & Farmstead have agreed to team up in 2008 to throw a birthday party to commemorate the incorporation of the Town of Lancaster 175 years ago, in 1833. The event, scheduled for the weekend of June 7 & 8, will feature live country, blue grass, and folk music, ice cream & sundaes made the old fashion way, tours of Hull House, period games for the kids, plenty of birthday cake, door prizes, pony cart rides, a plant sale, and farm animals for the kids to enjoy. American Harvest Dinner Set for October 26th

Preparations are in full swing for the fifth annual Hull House American Harvest Dinner. This year’s event, to again be held at the Fox Valley Club in Lancaster on October 26th and promises to be the biggest and best yet. Featured will be sumptuous fare, auctions of all kinds – silent, Chinese and live, with Ben Schultz of Kelly Schultz Antiques doing the calling again this year. Archaeological Find at the Hull House
August 25th, 2007

Archaeologists working to understand the Hull House site have recently unearthed an intriguing piece of evidence. There methodical digging has revealed what appears to be the stone foundation to an early building, directly behind the Hull House that was previously unknown. Much work remains to reveal more of this exciting find in hopes of determining its date of origin and its function on the site. What else waits to be found?

Continued Restoration
August 20th, 2007

Preservation architects employed at the Historic Hull House have now moved into the next stage of the project – the development of the comprehensive plan for the complete restoration of the interior aspects of Hull House – walls, windows, floors and fireplaces. Also joining in on the planning is the Hull House landscape architect, as the plan for the comprehensive site development continues to evolve. This plan will define all of the elements and features of the site that will define and support the farmstead.
